送人玫瑰,手有余香

My two little daughters and I usually go out and help others on Thankful Thursday. Last Thursday we were going to buy lunch for the beggars in the street. Then we went to the nearest McDonald’s... I ordered 15 lunches from it and drove my car to hand them out.

We gave the lunches to the beggars. They were excited. We were happy to see that. Then we noticed a small, old woman, asking for pocket money. We gave her our last lunch bag. Before we got into the car, she started to speak to us, “No one has ever done anything like this for me before,” she said with a smile. “Well, I’m glad that we're the first,” I answered. “So, when will you eat your lunch?”I asked.

She just looked at me with her big, tired brown eyes and said, “Oh, dear, I'm not going to have this lunch. You see, I have a little girl of my own. I usually can’t buy her favorite food, but today she will be so happy! ”

I don’t know if the kids noticed the tears in my eyes. I have asked many times whether our actions of kindness were too small to change anything. Yet at that moment, I realized the truth of words: “We cannot do great things —only small things with great

love.”

Dear daughters,

Most parents say to their children, “You can be anyone you want when you grow up.” I feel the same and I often 1 this to you. But I also want you to understand that dreams come from hard work, some good luck and good timing.

Girls, as your mom and a businesswoman, here are some words as you graduated from junior high school.

In high school, I dreamt to 2 in a hospital when I grew up. I left my hometown and went to college in Washington DC. There, however, I discovered that what I really loved was business. It taught me I was creative and 3 at business. As a result, I didn't become a doctor. I became the head of a trade organization instead. Now I run a successful company that I started 4 my own.

Don't waste time, but never stop changing what you're doing when you know more about yourselves.

I won't tell you to feel good about failure. Failure can be heartbreaking. However, I will tell you that 5 made me better and stronger.

Failing the big match exam in high school and going to summer school were embarrassing. With much hard work, I finally passed, and I 6 failed an exam again. I learned from that experience to ask for help. Now, I ask for help in business all the time.

I once failed a job interview because of unfairness. 7 I was heartbroken, I never gave up. It's OK to get angry. Accept that and turn bad luck into good one.

I'm proud to be a great example to you as a mom and a businesswoman. I hope you believe that you can be 8 you want and you can have everything on your list. It will be my pleasure to watch your life bloom (绽放) before my eyes.

Love, Your Mom
