The Research Progress on Cotton Fiber Development at
Molecular Level
Abstract:Cotton fiber is one of the world's most important textile materials, is the first major production of natural fiber crops, and has significant economic value. With the development of cotton industry and technology, it¡¯s necessary to improve the quality traits of cotton fiber. Application of the theory and methods of genetics, functional genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics to carried out the cotton fiber development of biological mechanisms research. Explore cotton fiber quality-related functional genes, further reveal the genetic basis and molecular mechanism of fiber development. Screening and created a number of value-specific fiber materials, raised new theories and methods of molecular mechanisms to improve the quality traits in cotton. Lay the Material foundation and scientific basis for Cultivating new varieties of High yield and quality.
