A popular article that is widely spread online recently lists the cartoon series Chinese parents prefer for their children. At the bottom are domestic (国内的) ones such as Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf and Boonie Bears, while at the top are the English versions of cartoon series produced by countries like the US and South Korea, such as Bob s Burgers and Backkom.
The article further says that in kindergartens, kids watching the same cartoon series often make

friends with each other. Parents whose children can understand English shows look down upon other parents, who only offer children domestic ones, and an invisible wall forms between their kids.
There is a Chinese saying, “don’t let your child lose at the starting line.” It's clear that competition between parents who don't wish their children to lose at the starting line has even started from what kind of cartoon their children watch. Those who choose to shrug off domestic cartoon shows have their reasons. They believe countries including the US, South Korea and Japan are more expert at making cartoon series than China. Children can not only enjoy humorous and imaginative cartoons but also enrich their language by watching them. 【写作内容】

According to a recent popular article online, many Chinese parents tend to let their children watch English cartoon series rather than domestic ones, believing that such cartoons can help their kids get ahead of others at the very beginning.
In order not to let their children fall behind, many parents prefer to send their kids to some expensive early education centers and even take them to live overseas. In their opinion, little children raised in this way might gain wide knowledge and become open-minded. What’s more, they have a sense that their children are better than the children whose parents cannot offer these things.
On my personal note, I don t think the practice that parents try every possible means to make sure their children win at the starting line should be promoted. Parents are supposed to provide their children with things based on their own abilities, or they and their children will put up with the harmful results of always keeping up with the Joneses. 【评分标准】
