My view on E-learning
Since people have become more comfortable with techniques, E-learning is going into education. At the most basic level, E-learning is a way of gaining knowledge through computer and Internet, usually used by individuals. In my view, convenience and self-discipline are the major advantages.
Compared to the traditional learning, E-learning allows students to study at their own pace without the unyielding time restrictions. What's more, no travel time is needed to get to school and students can set their own learning pace according to self-condition. It adds much flexibility to students' schedule of learning. Also, E-learning provides much convenience on searching data information, because massive materials are publicly shared on the Internet. And it meets the satisfaction of the students who wish to learn in different countries. In addition, for the convenience E-learning has brought, students could save a lot of expenses on books and transportation.
Another major advantage of E-learning is self-discipline. The traditional learning has set students on seat and let them simply listen to teachers. In some way, this kind of education method could kill a student's capability of time management and concentration. While through E-learning, students' self-discipline could be put into great practice by individual work. Once students leave school and integrate into society, good self-discipline would be a strong competitiveness.
As far as I'm concerned, like every coin has its two sides, E-learning has both advantages and disadvantages. But for the moment, E-learning has become an unstoppable trend all around the world for the big benefits and convenience it can offer.
