Teaching Plan Description

Good morning everyone! It’s my great honor to be here to present my lesson!

Part 1 Analysis of the teaching materials

Today I’ll talk about the first period of Unit-------. And my teaching contents consist of Warming Up, Pre-reading, Reading and Comprehending.

By studying, Ss can learn---------, grasp some important words and phrases, understand some difficult sentences using -------, improve their reading ability, and cultivate emotional attitudes and values. So this period is very important. Based on the analysis of the teaching materials, my teaching aims consist of three parts.

Part 2 Analysis of leaners

The students of grade 2 in senior middle school, and they are familiar with this topic, so it’s easy for them to have a discussion on it. But they are poor in the new words and phrases connected with the topic. So it is necessary to guide students to master them.

Part 3 Teaching aims

Based on the analysis of the teaching materials and learns, my teaching aims consist of three parts:

1. Knowledge aims: Understand--------, master some important words and phrases, and learn the usage of the -------.

2. Ability aims: Train the students’ predicting, skimming,scanning, summarizing and getting the detailed information ability during reading the text. To practice listening and speaking ability. 3. Emotional aim: To arouse the students’ interest in ----.

Part 4 Teaching methods

As we all know, Einstein once said that interest is the best teacher, so I will try to interest the students throughout my teaching to realize my teaching aims. I will make every effort to carry out situational and communicative teaching, task-based teaching, inquiry teaching, comparison teaching. While teaching, I will use body language, blackboard to help me.

Part 5 The guidance of learning method

It is widely accepted that teaching students to fish is better than giving them fish. A German education expert once said: \art of teaching is not imparting knowledge, but in motivating, recalling, and encouraging.

So I should not only arouse students to question, explore, and learn in practice but also encourage students to learn actively, willingly, happily and creatively under the guidance of teachers.

Part 6 Teaching procedures

My teaching procedure consists of five steps. Step1 Lead –in

I will create situations to introduce the topic of this period. Step2 Warming up and Pre-reading

Using questions to arouse the students’ interest of knowing more about the topic.

Step3 Reading and Comprehending There are three parts of this step. Skimming

Skim the title and the first or the last sentence of each passage, and then answer some questions or ask them try to summarize the main meaning of the passage.
