There are some possible reasons for the present situation. First, the two generations, having grown up at different times, have different likes and dislikes for the things around them and thus have little in common to talk about. Second, parents and children, due to the misunderstanding between them, may even feel it uncomfortable to sit face to face with each other talking. To bridge this so-called generation gap, in my opinion, both parent and child should make an effort. The children should respect their seniors. If they will take the first step by actually talking to one another, it won't be long before the arrival of a better understanding between parent and child.

This will save a lot of electricity and is good for the fridge as well. Another thing we can do is to ride our bicycles instead of driving cars or riding buses. They \which comes from oil, a nonrenewable (adj. 不可再生的) energy resource. Finally, don't forget to turn off the lights when leaving a room. It doesn't take much time, but saves a lot of electricity.

How to Solve the Energy Problem
When asked about one of the biggest problems today, many people say that an energy crisis is approaching and threatening mankind’s survival. They are afraid that the world is likely to run out of oil and metals and to run short of food in the near future.
To this problem, most countries respond with the demand for more rigid conservation of our natural resources. Indeed, this is urgently needed, for the present waste of energy in industrial and personal consumption is so serious that it has become habitual and traditional. If the natural resources are used economically, we can certainly slow down the present drain on the limited energy supply. However, conservation alone is not the answer. It is obvious that even if we can save much energy, we can only delay the energy crisis, but cannot solve the problem completely. No matter how abundant certain natural resources may be, they cannot reproduce themselves and are bound to be used up ultimately. So in the long run we must develop new sources of energy instead of merely conserving the known, limited supplies.
Man is highly adaptable and creative, and since he is able to tap such resources as oil and metals, why can’t he develop and harness solar energy, nuclear energy and other unknown energy resources?

As we know, there are so many festivals in the entire world, including Chinese traditional festivals and Western festivals. I strongly disagree to celebrate western holidays in China.
0n the one hand, western festivals have the cultural and historical origins in the western countries, which are not known and comprehended by Chinese people. There are so many western festivals, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Saint Valentine's Day and so on, which are originated from or related with Christian or Catholicism which are not believed in by the majority of Chinese people. We could not gain the happy feeling since we could not understand these holidays’ meanings.
On the other hand, there are negative aspects on unhealthy people in the western festivals which should not be celebrated by us. All Saints Day is a very thrilling festival, in which people put the horrible or sinister mask upon their faces. Though these kinds of actions help people to boost their courage, it is dangerous to the unhealthy people or ill people with heart diseases. If they encounter the people with a vivid skeleton mask on face suddenly without any caution, it is very likely that they would be threatened and fainting on the floor.
To sum up, there are different kinds of meaningful and adequate festivals in China. Obviously, western festivals, with negative effects on the unhealthy and cultural background being unknown to Chinese people, should not be celebrated by us.

At present, some Chinese students are crazy for studying abroad. Some of them tend to think that studying abroad is the best way to develop themselves. It may be the following reason let them hold that view: Firstly, studying abroad can improve their oral English and listening comprehension; Secondly, with economic development, increasing income of some parents make it possible that they can sent their child abroad.
On the contrary, other people have different opinion. They argued that it is hard to say whether oversea students can benefit from studying abroad or not. They pointed out that it is not good for oversea students if they could not adapt to new circumstance as fast as possilbe.Additionally,they will face some great challenges to communicate with foreigners at the very beginning. What’s more, in their opinion, studying abroad will make a lot of money run off.
As far as I am concerned, I am in favor of the latter. The reasons is that we can study well our English
in our country as long as we have good habit of studying English. And also, our country is developing with high speed, it will be more and more strong and advanced, and it also provides not a little opportunity to us.
