1. Have you ever read any English newspaper or Chinese newspaper? What are they?
2. Which would you prefer, English newspaper or Chinese newspaper? Why? Activity2: Ask students to list some newspaper they usually read. T: So class can you tell me some newspaper you usually read?
S: China daily, New York Times, Washington Post, 21 century, English Weekly... (Purposes: To arose students’ interest and lead to the topic.) Step2: Brainstorm (5mins)
Activity1: Ask students to brainstorm that what an outline is. An outline includes a headline, main ideas and details.
Activity2: Ask students to answer some questions about the outline. Questions: 1.Why an outline is important?

4.What are the steps to finish a newspaper story? 5.What is the feature of the newspaper story?
(Purpose: By brainstorming, students have a basic idea of an outline and the newspaper story.)
Step3: Pre-writing (5mins)
