After several years’ work, I decided to leave England and have a travel with my friend, Dan. In the past few months, I learnt so much from the long trip which began on April 20.
Our first destination was Amsterdam. I will never forget what a wonderful time we had or the people we met who looked after and helped us. When we arrived there in April, we celebrated Queen’s Day (a national holiday for the Queen, everyone wears orange and joins parties), played with a lot of cats and visited the city on foot. Amsterdam is really a comfortable place for people to live.
In May, we went to Zambia and we stayed there for 4 weeks. I had the worst time of my life there. I’m sure I will never go there in the future, but Dan likes there.
Then we flew back to London and chose the third destination — France. In order to have a good time there, we found a lot of information on the Internet. Dan could speak French (法语), so the trip was easier. We lived in Versailles, (about 30 minutes outside of Paris) because it was cheap and the transportation there was good. We finished our two months’ visiting to France at the end of August, 2014.

It was about 11:00 p.m. when my telephone rang. I answered it. The man on the other end asked if I knew Samual K. I did. He is my 91-year-old grandpa. The caller went on to tell me that I was the only person in Grandpa’s phone book. He said his name was Mason and he was working in a hotel. My grandpa went there to book (预订) a room. The problem was that Grandpa didn’t take enough money with him. In fact, my grandpa’s mind was disordered (错乱) and he really didn’t seem to know what was happening. He said he would go back home and get the money. But Mason was worried because my grandpa didn’t know where his home was.
Mason didn’t only spend the time calling me, but also agreed to let my grandpa pay just $39 for a room so that he could stay safely and comfortably during the night. Normally a room costs about $140. The next day my uncle, Sam, drove 100 miles to pick my grandpa up. Thanks, Mason.
