PowerPoint presentation slides of images of different people. Warming up I. Ask the students some questions to arouse their interest: Do you have friends in our class? Please introduce him/ 教具 her to us. II. Show students the picture on Page 15 of Unit 2. Ask them to look at the picture and discuss: 1. How do you make friends? 教学环节设计 2. What do you often do with your friends? III. Introduce the key themes to students. IV. Ask the students to listen to four sentences and match the key words in the sentences with the pictures in Activity ①, Warming up. Present the key sentences on the slide and explain their meanings. V. Ask students to look at the three pictures in Activity②, and then match the words about personality with the pictures. 1
Listening & Speaking practice (1) I. Ask the students to try reading the words in the word box on Page 17. Then ask students to read them after the tape. II. Word game. Bingo game. Ask the students to make a card of 2*3 grids and ask them to fill in the grids with the six new words in the word box. Then ask students to read the six words and cross out the word they may hear. If anyone who first gets two straight lines after he has crossed out all the words, he wins the game. helpful cool smart crazy cousin naughty III. Before listening: 1. Show the picture of Tom. Tell students they are going to listen to a short dialogue about Tom. Then ask students to predict what questions about Tom they will hear in the dialogue: Eg: Who is he? How old is he? 2. Give them some advice on listening skills. IV. Play the tape twice and ask the students to practice it after the tape. V. Present the basic sentences on the blackboard: What does he like? He likes… VI. Ask the students to listen to the dialogue again. And then ask them to form groups and make dialogues with the given words and pictures. Ⅶ. Invite two pairs of students to present their dialogue before class. 2
Listening & Speaking practice (2) I. Ask the students to look at the picture on Page 18, and then listen to the dialogue of Activity ④. Ask students to repeat the three questions they may hear in the dialogue after listening. Who’s the girl in the middle? What’s she like? Do you often play together? II. Present the two sentences and explain the different meanings: What does she like? What’s she like? III. Ask the students to listen to the dialogue in Activity ④ again. Then ask them to work in pairs and tell their partners something about Dora and Peter in Activity ⑤. IV. Game: guess who he/she is? Show descriptions about some famous persons and ask students to guess the name of the person. 教学环节设计 Consolidation Eg: tall, be good at playing basketball, Chinese sports star... (Yao Ming) I. Present pictures of the teacher and his/her friends, ask students to ask some questions about the persons in the picture. II. Ask students to show some pictures about his/her family or friends.
