Lesson 25 : Let's Do an Experiment!

【学习目标】

知识目标:science, experiment, fill, prove, scientific, method;

do an experiment, fill…with, cover….with, turn… upside down, be (not) sure…;

1. I’m sure the floor won’t get wet.

【导学过程】 一、自主预习 【预习指导】

1. 自学教材第25课单词与词组,你可以听录音跟读,根据音标读,或者请教别人读。做到发音标准,弄清词性和汉语意思。读得同时圈出新单词,生单词。 2. 自学教材第66页内容,仔细读课文至少三遍,弄清课文大意。用横线划出文中的重要句子。 【自主学习】

三、交流展示 Language Points:

1. I cover the top with a piece of cardboard and hold it there. 我用一块纸板将它的顶部盖上并把它按在那里。 cover…with… 意为“用…覆盖…”,类似句式be covered with 表示“被…覆盖”,这是一个系表结构。

My mother covered the table with cloth. 我妈妈用布把桌子盖住了。 The bed is covered with paper. 床上盖满了纸。

2. Then I turn the jar upside down and take my hand off the cardboard. 然后我将广口瓶倒置并将我的手从纸板上拿开。 ① turn upside down 意为“把……翻转/倒过来”,相当于\意为“正面朝下”;“right side up”意为“正面朝上”。

Turn your watch upside down and then put it on the table. 把你的手表翻过来,然后把它放在桌子上。 You hold the book upside down. 你把书拿倒了。

② take … off … 意为“使…离开/脱离;把…从…拿开”。

Please take your hand off my cup. 请把你的手从我的杯子上拿开。 【拓展】take off 意为“摘掉;(飞机)起飞;脱掉”

Bill took off his glasses. 比尔摘掉了他的眼镜。

When will the plane take off? 飞机将在什么时候起飞?

3. I am so sure of my theory that Brian can do the experiment over your head and I know you won't get wet.

我对我的理论很有把握,布莱恩可以在你的头上做实验, 并且你不会湿的。 ① be sure表示肯定,有把握, 而be not sure表示不确定;

be sure/be not sure后可接句子,也可接代词、名词、动名词或不定式。 be sure of 意为“对…有把握”; 常见用法:be sure of sb./doing sth. Are you sure of this matter? 你对这件事情有把握吗? be sure to do sth. “确定做某事”

I am sure to go back home tomorrow. 我确定明天回家。 be sure + that 从句

He isn't sure that he can pass the exam. 他不确定他能通过考试。 ② so…that …如此…以至于…

He is so sleepy that he can fall asleep everywhere. 他是如此疲倦以至于在哪里都能睡着。

4. It is strong enough to hold the water. 它力量很大足以把水托住。 enough to do… 意为“足以…做某事”,这里的enough起副词作用,用在形容词或副词后作状语。

Allan is old enough to go to school. 艾伦到上学的年龄了。
