[名师点津] 在hardly ... when, no sooner ... than结构中,主句用过去完成时,从句用一般过去时,且当hardly, no sooner位于句首时,主句应用倒装语序。

⑥No sooner had_he_arrived than she started complaining. 他一到,她就开始抱怨起来。

(1)“the +比较级 ...the +比较级 ...”句型表示“越……就越……”,其中前面的句子是状语从句,后面的句子是主句,该结构表示后者随着前者的变化而变化。该结构中,若主句的谓语动词用一般将来时,从句的谓语动词要用一般现在时表示将来。

①The more you read,the more you will get. 你读得越多收获就越大。

②The_earlier_you_start,_the sooner you will be back. 你动身越早,回来就越早。

③The more she flatters, the_less I like her. 她越奉承,我越不喜欢她。

(2)表示“越来越……”用“比较级+and+比较级”,如果是多音节形容词,则用“more and more+多音节形容词原级”结构。

④I’m getting fatter_and_fatter. What should I do, doctor? 我越来越胖了。我该怎么办,医生? ⑤She becomes more and more beautiful. 她变得越来越漂亮。
