The different ways different generations handle male-female relationship
Love is sunshine, showing up in darkness
Love is water, saving lives in drought
Love is air, existing everywhere
Love is hope, giving people encouragement
But what is love? Who can tell me?
When it comes to love, different generations have different concepts. My
grandparents may believe that love is life in which women just attach to men. My
parents probably think love is just like a variety of dishes which needs tasted by
oneself. As for me, love is a special feel that is beyond description.
My family obviously reflects three different attitudes to love.
In the era of constraints and respect, people`s notions were conventional. Girls
always stayed at home and waited for parent`s arrangement, before which they were
not allowed to chat with boys. Then the lady just married to totally unknown person
to live a whole life. Maybe there is no love between them. It was just a kind of
company habit that made them lived together harmoniously. They didn`t know the
true meaning of love.
After carrying out the reform and opening-up policy, people could select their
own lover more freely. Less restraints and more communication with opposite sex
made them more open to love. In my opinion, my parents are the most typical
example of love. They met on the bus, my father fell in love with my mother at first
sight. Then here am I. They went through trials and tribulations just for love. They are
lucky and happy.
At the present times, more people pursue passion, acquiring and material
life, in stead of the sharing and closeness. People pay less attention to the feeling
between them which is the essence of love.
In my opinion, this is love: I love you not because who are you, but because
who I am when I am with you.
