be here with you today. And I would like to take the opportunity to share with 

you some interesting facts about Crossing bridge rice noodles, which is my 

favorite food in Yunnan. 

 

 

Crossing bridge noodles are the most popular dish in Yunnan. It

鈥?/p>

definitely the dish you must try. It is allegedly invented by a virtuous wife, she 

wanted to keep her soup noodles fresh and hot for her husband, and h

e went to 

study on an island

. The dish normally comes with a bowl of rice noodles, a 

bowl of hot soup and some other stuff such as meat, vegetables and so on. The 

wife brought them over the bridge, combining them just before her husband was 

ready to eat. From then on, her husband had a delicious and hot meal everyday. 

Because his wife went across the bridge everyday, the rice noodles make by this 

way was named as Crossing bridge rice noodles. The most important factor is 

the soup. it was made by chicken and pig bone. The next things are the stuff: 

vegetables and meat. The vegetables must be fresh. The meat is sliced into thin 

pieces. The thinner, the better. 

 The process of eating is 

also special. 

 

Don鈥檛 eat the soup too fast. first put 

the 

meat 

in 

a 

soup, 

then 

add 

the 

vegetables 

and 

rice 

noodles 

go 

last.
