教学内容：
译林《小学英语》五年级（下）Unit 8 Birthdays Story time 教材分析：
本单元围绕过生日这一话题，通过Miss Li、Su Hai 和Mike对话谈论他们的生日日期以及如何过生日，意在让学生初步感知英语中序数词的使用方法以及日期的表达方式，并对生日当天的庆祝活动进行讨论和分享，同时简单渗透中西方文化中不同的生日风俗习惯。 学情分析：
学生在上一课Chinese festivals通过学习中国的几个传统节日，学习了表达节日所在月份，以及描述人们在不同节日里的常见活动和庆祝方式.而且在五年级上册Unit 2 （A new student）中已经学过first、second、third等序数词，对于本节课中新的序数词的学习和理解，以及讨论和表达过生日的活动语料方面有一定的帮助。
教学目标：
1. 能在语境中朗读、初步理解和运用单词birthday,April,game，eleventh, eighth. 2. 能通过阅读文本，观察图片，在对话语境中初步感知序数词eighth/eleventh等的用法，初步了解英语中日期的表达方法。
3. 能通过听录音、看动画，模仿跟读等方法，初步理解课文对话的主要内容，并能运用所学表述文中人物的过生日活动，对比体验感知中西方人过生日的不同方式。 教学重点
1. 单词birthday，April，game，eleventh, eighth的读音。
2. 初步运用When’s your birthday...? 及其回答It’s on...体会如何用序数词正确表达日期。 3. 在情境中用What do you do on your birthday?及其回答I usually...来讨论和表达如何过生日。 教学难点：
1. 单词birthday，eleventh, eighth的正确发音。
2. 序数词的构成及其如何用它们来正确表达日期。 教学准备：希沃5，多媒体课件，板贴，人物头像。
